What We Do
Josh’s Hope Foundation, (JHF), is unique in central NC because it offers programming that combines vocational training in woodworking with therapeutic services, including training in independent life skills, job preparedness, and communication skills in order to improve outcomes while reducing risk factors for underserved, transitioning young adults with mental illness and their families. JHF operates three community programs to fill gaps in needed services: Family Hope, Climbing Hope, and Tools for Hope (T4H). The organization helps at-risk young adults and their families identify resources such as potential employers and housing opportunities, working with them to develop plans for successful independent living.
“Being able to make things with my hands that other people seem to like has given me a new purpose in life. I actually look forward to getting out of bed every day.” – T4H program participant now working part-time in construction and full-time in his recovery process.
